As the temperatures drop and the trees lose their stunning autumn outfits, our thoughts turn to those of our neighbors – your beloved children, Almighty God – who are cold. Perhaps they are cold from a lack of fuel to heat their homes. Maybe the cold whips through them because they don’t have a warm coat or socks. They may feel it most when waiting – in line, on a bus, on the walk in search of heat. The warmth so many of us take for granted is not universal. May we be generous in helping keep people warm, a warmth all people crave. Strengthen us to share this basic human need without judgment. In your most holy name we pray. Amen.
