With fires raging a continent away, we are mindful that so much of your creation is fragile, Almighty God. May our stewardship of the abundant resources you have gifted us with – humankind, animals, birds, trees and all of creation – be our priority. May our care for the most vulnerable include those we will never meet and land our feet will never touch. To treasure what we will never see or hear or experience is the work of faith and hope. May we partner in their care with all who lift up your most holy name, giving thanks also for those who risk their very lives to preserve life. Amen.
