In the blink of an eye, Almighty God, we find ourselves in a new year. We make letting go of the old and welcoming the new really hard. It is tough to let go of old insecurities, disappointments and disputes. It is hard work to welcome new ideas, new ways of doing things and new faces and personalities into each of our own little worlds. And yet you remain a constant, Holy One. You are with us through changes and opportunities, through losses and hurts. Your unwavering love is a beacon for our days. In this you show us how to love unconditionally. May we move closer to you and live into your example in this new year with mercy for all. In your most holy name, we pray. Amen.
