Midweek Prayer 7/31/19

When the heat and humidity of summer take their toll on our bodies and our patience, O Creator God, be with us as we seek refreshment. That could take the form of a dip in a pool, lake, river or even bathtub.  We might seek it in an ice cream cone or cool glass of water.  Our refreshment may come in front of a fan or the air conditioning in our car.  Once we have sought relief, let us continue to seek you in the comfortable and even the uncomfortable parts of our days.  Be with our neighbors whose health may be compromised as well as those who labor mightily in the heat.  We know there is a season to every purpose under heaven.  May we continue to find what we need most in the knowledge of your abiding love.  Amen.
