Midweek Prayer

What do we do when the world we have come to rely on is upended, Holy One?  There are two major connections we lean into as living, breathing beings.  One of these connections has now been altered.  We are finding new ways to stay in touch when we can’t be face-to-face.  Be with us in our physical isolation and continue to show us ways to make our paths intersect with caring and concern.  That other connection, though, still takes the same shape it has had since the beginning of time.  We need only call on you, Ever-Present God, and you are there.  We can forget about you and you are there.  We can turn to you in our loneliness, confusion, worry and fear and you are there.  May we reach out to you in the midst of time that feels out of our control and then listen for your presence, with our hearts and minds and very being.  In your glorious name, we pray.  Amen.
