The colors you surround us with during this season of change that we call autumn are mesmerizing, Creator God. Whether it’s red, yellow, or orange, the contrast with those conifers that stay green reminds us that in the midst of all that change there is also that which stays the same. In a world where we wake up to new information about the state of our world every day, your abiding presence and unending love continue. Help us hold onto that which we can count on in the form of your grace and peace and let go of that which is fleeting. May we heed the old blessing we offer our children – Let us be a people of roots that offer us stability and wings to pursue your dream for us. Through it all, beauty and hardship, may we continue to keep our heart beating with yours. Amen.
