Midweek prayer

Thank you.  Only eight letters strung together that are so easy to forget and yet so powerful. Thank you signals a willingness to recognize that we are not islands unto ourselves. Thank you has the power to heal and the power to start anew. Thank you as final words are one of the most meaningful ways to finish a shared endeavor, a relationship, or an earthly life.  To you, O God, on this Thanksgiving when so many tables will be missing loved ones, we offer our thank you – for life, for health, for beauty, for love, for the people that lend meaning to our days, and for your abiding presence.  Simple and succinct, we come before you with full hearts. Thank you.
