God of Love, we approach Christmas with a heart that yearns for connection and traditions and celebration. We get closer to the birth of Jesus knowing that the world has changed and wasn’t that what a tiny baby coming to life in a humble stable was all about? In the midst of our joy tempered with feelings of yearning for familiar faces and spaces, remind us that the incarnation of you, Holy One, is meant to change us. May we become more hopeful, work more diligently for peace, live joyfully and love generously. Amen.
