Winter in this part of your creation, Holy One, is a time of snow cover and melting – over and over again. There is the beauty of freshly fallen snow before vehicles and feet move over it, leaving salt and sand in their wake, to make a path through it all. Like so much of our lives, the new thing happens and immediately we push through, sometimes without a thought to the wonder of the newness in our midst. May we pause this day and every day for a regular dose of awe at all that is before us. Then may that awe turn into gratitude for the new thing in our midst as well as the ability to find a path, through you and with you, Almighty God. Amen.
