Midweek prayer

Harsh beauty is the very definition of winter.  Holy One, so much of life is that way – a delicate balance between the painful and the profound.  None of us is promised a life of ease and still we know there are wonders to behold even amidst the most difficult of days.  There is laughter along with tears, there are moments of awe in each of our days that in this COVID time can seem indistinguishable from one another, and there is the promise of the new life of spring buried deep beneath a foot of snow. When life gets hard, Almighty God, may we draw on memories and hope to help us put one foot in front of the other. In your abiding name, we pray. Amen
