Memories are powerful, Almighty God. Some can transport us back decades, set off by something as simple as the smell of roses or a particular shade of blue. Others feel so vivid that we forget where we are. There are those that have us giggling to ourselves or emotion-laden enough to leave us in tears. Sometimes we wish we didn’t remember so easily but then there are those images and faces and voices that come to us when we need them most and we know there is a sacred purpose to them. May we honor the memories and arrive at a place of gratitude, Holy One. Let us treasure the memories that give us a glimpse of you and your love and mercy. Amen.
