Midweek Prayer

Gracious God, we have set aside a single day and called it Thanksgiving. But every day is cause for gratitude. Sometimes the thanks flow from us just for the opportunity to wake up and have a new day spread before us. There are days when we raise our thanks for home – both the physical space and the emotional place of safety and warmth. Other days we open our cupboards or refrigerator and can’t help but be grateful for the food we have – often so much more than our household can consume. Tomorrow, we set aside to give voice to our thanksgiving but the fact that you are with us all days is reason enough for a lifetime of gratitude. In your generous name, we pray. Amen.
