We usher in a new month but so much of life seems to be the same – staying home, wearing masks, keeping our distance – and it may stay this way for a while. Loving and Ever-Present God, there is comfort in knowing you are with us in the day-to-day routine of living. We may yearn to visit each other and see new places but instead we find one day blending into another. Perhaps this week we will search for you with more energy – in the kindness of the grocery store cashier, in the beauty of blooming daylilies, in the flash of lightening shooting across the balmy summer sky. This could be the summer we treasure your creation with more earnestness, taking comfort in the everyday but not taking it for granted. Maybe that’s how we will grow closer to you, Holy One. May our search be a blessing. It is in your holy name we pray. Amen.
