With joy as our Advent call this week, Holy One, remind us how challenging it is for many of your children to dwell in a place of joy. Some struggle with grief while others feel overwhelmed by life. Let this season when there is an expectation of joy land gently on those for whom joy is beyond their grasp. May we walk beside them without giving advice or offering false promises. Be with those who are hurting, Almighty God. Your indwelling presence is our hope. Amen.
