God of us all, on this day when our grief and anger is overwhelming, we collectively mourn the deaths of school children and teachers. Be with us. Guide us as we use our heartbreak and tears to comfort the anguished. Create in us a desire for change that will lead to peace and safety and well-being of all your children. We lean into you for the strength and resolve needed to be peacemakers, not in words but in actions. Hear our tearful and determined prayer, Holy One. Amen.
